Venue

The 8th International Conference “Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering & Medical Devices” BIOMMEDD’2018 will be hosted at the NAPOCA HOTEL Cluj-Napoca.

Hotel Napoca is located on the meandering Someşul Mic river bank, 250 m from Parcul Central. Rooms at the Grand Hotel Napoca have modern décor and come with carpeted floors, air conditioning and a flat-screen TV. Car hire is available on site. The restaurant serves international food and has an à la carte menu, and a buffet breakfast is served. You can also have a packed breakfast, to take with you when in a hurry. There is also a terrace where guests can relax and view the surroundings. Just 20 m away there is a bus station. Cluj Arena, one of the main events venues of the city, is 800 m from this property. The hotel is also only a 15-minute drive away from the Cluj-Napoca Airport.

Cluj-Napoca is the vibrant city in the northwestern part of Romania, considered the unofficial capital to the historical province of Transylvania. The city is one of the most important academic, cultural, industrial and business centres in Romania. Among other institutions, it hosts the country’s largest university, Babeș-Bolyai University, with its famous botanical garden; nationally renowned cultural institutions. Cluj-Napoca held the titles of European Youth Capital in 2015 and European City of Sport in 2018.

Entrance in Romania

Visitors from other European Union member countries may enter in Romania using either passport of their Nation Identity Document. It is required that visitors from non EU member countries to have a valid passport, and a visa if required. Inquiries regarding visas can be directed to Romanian Diplomatic Representatives abroad.

Language

The main language spoken is Romanian. Tourist information, menus etc. are mostly always available in English and French.

Currency and exchange

All major international credit cards are accepted. Foreign currency can be exchanged in Romania at banks and foreign exchange offices. The Romanian currency is Leu (RON).

VAT

There is a value added tax of 24% applied to all products and services, but most prices will include it. When it is not included, it should be clearly indicated.
